Breakthrough
Idea from a Dealer in California. During a telephone
conference with my friends at Cort Furniture, I was asked by Tricia Tensfeld if
we could use Trax to post messages from management to individuals the next day?
It hit me like a ton of bricks… What
a great way for someone to pass on a message to someone else.
It is permanently documented and will absolutely be seen the next morning
by everyone. You can have the
message pop up any day in the future when, you want to remind someone, about
anything.
I
would suggest that everyone use it even for important personal dates.
Anniversaries, Birthdays etc… What
a valuable tool for passing on important customer information to another sales
person, especially days off, when someone else must do something to save, or
make a sale.
I
don’t suggest that you create a new customer opportunity every time you want
to pass on a message. It’s best
if you use an existing previous opportunity, which has no important information.
When you go to “Open Opportunities” find an up, which has no customer
info and a zip with all 00000’s. Just
make sure the “Action Date” is pointed to the date you want.
For the customers name put the name of the individual to whom you are
directing the message. Your message
will pop up automatically on the specified morning.
This

Please make a copy for each
individual on the sales floor.
Sometimes
it’s hard to describe how difficult it can be on a hectic fast-paced sales
floor. If you have the feeling, I
am doing well, but there is a much greater opportunity here if I could only get
organized and automated--you need to move into the 21st century.

every qualified prospective customer with whom they come in contact.

This
simple tool is used properly when you open the customer data window.
After entering the customer information, change the future “Action
Date”. This new date is
when you would like to be reminded to follow up. Or when your prospective
customer said they would be in. For
example they took home a swatch, and you have set an appointment.
Trax will also automatically send your un-sold customers thank you
letters, or special very personalized invitations.
Some sales people use it to track their sold customers birthdays.
In some cases this may be the only card this person receives.
They will never forget you. And
where do you think they will go when they need another of your products.
It is also a very easy date to get if you develop the habit of asking.
Special note-- don’t ask the ladies for the year.
To
kick this off right, my advice is to take all unsold prospective customers from
your tickler files and enter them into the Trax System.
The ideal would be that the entire sales team asks the boss to find a
good typist to enter all these opportunities at the same time.
Make sure you change the date on the computer so these are not counted as
new opportunities.
I
want to make a strong effort here to convince you to use Trax as your tickler
file. The primary reason is that
most tickler file systems absolutely do not work.
They are sorted alphabetically then by day, then 1-31, then by product
category, then by… your guess is as good as mine. Basically if you don’t spend half your time organizing the
darn thing daily, it doesn’t work. Trax
will organize your selling life and help you attain your personal goals faster.
It will automatically remind you of all promised activity and make it so
you never ever miss another
opportunity again.
