Wide
Area Networking Setup
NOTE: This
software CD is designed to install on remote PC’s, Please do not install the
networking CD over the existing UpBoard/CRM System.
Each TRAX UpBoard is it’s own database and should
be considered a separate server of the system.
Each networked PC is considered a Client of the TRAX system and is
pointed to the appropriate TRAX UpBoard.
This applies even if you have other software programs running that have
a central database residing on a corporate server. The TRAX system ignores the existing server network and works
independently.
The following directions outline the
setup of the wide area networking as it relates to TRAXsales.
Insure TRAXsales CRM <UpBoard –
Traffic TRAX> is installed and operating.
This Networking software operates over
an existing wide area network.
TRAXsales software works through
Adaptive Server Anywhere, which is a client - server based program.
The Networking software utilizes a file
name search engine to locate the database at the UpBoard – TT workstation.
The two most common situations are:
1.
Wide
area networking with one UpBoard – TT database.
2.
Wide
area networking with multiple UpBoard – TT databases.
Situation 1 does not require the use of
the Networking Setup feature.
Situation 2 will require setup.
Multiple databases require the renaming of the database file name in the
registry. The following
instructions will describe how to make this change.
